Moonstar has manufactured footwear in Kurume since 1873, and the Gym Classic represents a faithful continuation of that heritage. This silhouette is based on a 1960s training shoe, produced using the traditional kaeruyama kiln-fired vulcanisation process. This technique involves firing each pair in a kiln, which chemically bonds the rubber sole to the cotton canvas upper. The result is a particularly durable bond and a flexible sole that maintains its shape over years of use. These are robust, functional sneakers built with Japanese precision and historical integrity.
