For 30 years, a truly high-quality, unbranded plain white t-shirt remained elusive. When attempts to create one in Portugal failed, the journey led to Japan—a place where perfection is a way of life. After months of searching, a small, family-run factory with nearly a century of craftsmanship was found. Known for producing uniforms for the Japanese Imperial Palace, they worked with unwavering dedication, using vintage circular knitting machines to create the ultimate t-shirt.

Earning their trust wasn’t easy. Japanese craftsmanship follows strict traditions, and change comes slowly. But patience and shared values led to a collaboration where precision and quality defined every step. The result was a garment that exceeded expectations—crafted with intention, built to last. Today, Sunray t-shirts are stocked in some of the most respected stores around the world, setting a new standard for timeless essentials.

With demand growing, the collection expanded. Sweatshirts, hoodies, and eventually, a womenswear line—Sunray Spirit—were introduced, maintaining the same commitment to craftsmanship and quality.
